Found this interesting article on 24-7 design heaven. The article is on Google Earth and how it adds the possibility of a layer of meaningful wayfinding. One of the projects featured is Museum Mapping Initiative | Crisis in Darfur. No longer are is Google Earth giving us simple driving directions or seeing where we live but rather the layer of information gives the possibility of tracking damaged and destroyed villages, internally displaced persons in Darfur and photos and videos. Now that’s meaningful wayfinding.
