Last week, I was once again priviledged to be a part of a program called Ideas that Matter. Ideas that Matter was established in 1999 by SAPPI Fine Paper to recognize and support the amazing ways in which designers contribute to causes that touch their hearts. Since the program began, nearly 200 projects have been funded for a total of more than $6 million. Few of these projects are large or well-known. But all of them represent good design for the public good.
Each year, the program is judged by leading design industry professionals. This year, our judges were Steven Heller, Co-Chair MFA, School of Visual Arts; Lita Talrico, Co-Chair MFA, School of Visual Arts; Hans Neubert, Managing Director and Associate Partner, VSA Partners, NY; Laura Des Enfants, Consultant, DesEnfantsAldrich; and Adam Larson, Founder, Adam & Co.
