Silkscreened on newspaper, the poster was my New Year’s gift for 2009. With the advent of hopeful messages and better times to come, I created a poster that had one simple message: the previous year can be old news, the new year is an opportunity to start over and work towards a better tomorrow.

Last June, I spent 4 weeks in Hale County, Alabama with Project M, an intensive summer program designed to inspire designers to show that their work can have a positive and significant impact on society. 

After going through the M experience, I’ve realized it’s important that talented designers continue to have the opportunity to attend Project M. And so, I designed a poster with the Project M ethos of “think wrong” in hopes of raising funds to “pay it forward”. Proceeds will go directly to helping other designers like myself attend Project M. Sure, we may not be known in the in circles. We may not fill the pages of design annuals. And we may never see our names in lights. But, we do know how to save the rain forest with a waterproof book. We do know how to build a park with a postcard. And we know how to bring water to a community with a few pages of newsprint.

We are part of a design movement. We believe that ability equals responsibility. And we are not the only ones. So, we built a lab where designers like you can make a difference. We are building the tools that will build the future. And this is where you come in.
